Today is 26th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident

April 26 – isn’t it symbolic that exactly 26 years have passed since the terrifying catastrophe of 1986. The Cernobyl NPP accident forced mankind to take a different look at the atomic energy and demonstrated how grim the consequences may be under careless attitude with it. Thousands of lives were taken by the tragedy. Massive damage was inflicted on the area surrounding the atomic power plant, so as on people's health. Unfortunately, proper conclusions from those happenings are still to be made.

We express our deep thanks and reverence to those who pacified the atomic fire with literally their bare hands, to those who tamed the raging beast which had broken out from the fourth reactor. They are firemen, military, the CNPP personnel. They are liquidators.

And despite life goes on and there's a new history already being written, we do not forget about that day and the liquidators' deed. Because the worst that can happen with mankind is oblivion. We do remember!
