About us

Our company was founded in March 2012 in Kiev, Ukraine. Ten years earlier, when at GSC Game World started developing the renowned S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game series and continued working on it until late December 2011 when the studio was unexpectedly shut down and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 project ‘frozen’. We were unable to reach an agreement with the rights owner regarding the use of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. brand. That’s why we made the decision to move forward as an independent studio with a new project. That day became the starting point for Vostok Games.

Vostok Games is a new studio founded by veterans of Ukrainian game industry with multiple years of experience in developing and releasing commercially successful projects. In March 2012 we reached an agreement with Vostok Ventures Ltd o supply the financing for our new game – free2play MMOFPS Survarium (work-in-progress).

Our mission

To create games that broaden the limits of the human experience that raise current questions of our time. These are questions of science, ecology, relationship of human and nature, cruelty, inventiveness of modern civilization, and, certainly, spirituality.

Philosophy of Vostok Games

"Vostok 1" was the first space apparatus to have taken a man (Yury Gagarin) into the orbit of Earth.

The company name symbolizes a brave step towards a new experience provided by technology. This reflects our philosophy – a movement in line with technological progress, developed in harmony with the environment, where, on top of fun, players receive valuable skills and understandings applicable in real life.
